Guidance for Dog Owners

Dog Friendly Self Catering Holiday Cottages in the Scottish Highlands

We are a family of dog lovers and know how important it is to take your dogs away with you but Suisgill is a working estate and we have to ask all our guests to act responsibly as far as their furry friends are concerned. We would be grateful therefore if, when staying at one of our self-catering holiday cottages, you would adhere to the following rules during your stay with us:

  • Please do not leave your dogs alone in any of the properties during your stay. Please take them with you or leave them in the kennel if staying at Upper Suisgill.
  • Dogs are not allowed on the furniture or in any of the bedrooms – this is very important as some guests are allergic to dog hair.
  • The fenced rough-grass gardens at our properties are great for your dogs to be able roam around, but please clear up any dog mess from the mown areas of the garden before you leave as we often have children staying at the properties who play in the garden, and a dog-poo-littered garden really isn’t very nice for the person mowing the lawn!
  • Suisgill is a working estate where stalking takes place on the hill and there are lots of sheep roaming about so please keep your dogs under control at all times.

On a chirpier note, Suisgill really is doggy paradise with many rabbit holes to be investigated. As a responsible dog owner you will know when it is appropriate to let your dog off the lead.
