Suisgill Estate is located in East Sutherland, a few miles inland from the village of Helmsdale along the A897 or ‘Strath of Kildonan’.
By Road:
The postcode for Suisgill is KW8 6HY. However, it is important not to rely solely on SatNav to get you to your destination as, whilst you will be deposited in the general vicinity, all the properties on the estate have the same postcode and some of them are as far as 6 miles apart.
From Inverness, follow the A9 north in the direction of Wick for about 70 miles until you reach the village of Helmsdale. At Helmsdale, turn inland and take a right at the Bridge Hotel to follow the A897 towards Kinbrace. This will turn into a single track road with passing places. Balvallioch Cottage is located on the right-hand side, approximately 6 miles up the A897 from Helmsdale. Upper Suisgill Lodge is located on the right-hand side, approximately 12 miles up the A897 from Helmsdale.
From Thurso, head west on the A836, passing through Reay and continuing for another 4-5 miles before taking the next left onto the A897. Upper Suisgill Lodge is located on the left-hand side, roughly 26 miles along this road. Balvallioch Cottage is located on the left-hand side, roughly 32 miles along this road.

By Air:
Inverness and Wick are the closest airports, and cars can be hired from each. Wick Airport (01955 602 215) is located about 40 miles away and has daily flights to and from Aberdeen and Edinburgh. Inverness Airport is located about 75 miles away and has daily flights to and from a number of UK destinations, including London Luton, Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol.
By Train:
There are daily sleeper trains from London to Inverness, as well as from other UK locations. The closest railway station is Kildonan (a request stop), to which a train service runs three times a day from Inverness. Kildonan Station is located approximately 3.5 miles from Balvallioch Cottage and 2.5 miles from Upper Suisgill Lodge.
