Food & Wine Shops

In Helmsdale there is Nisa Local on Dunrobin Street, which supplies all the basic essentials, plus the Helmsdale Butcher on Dunrobin Street for good quality local meat.  Driving to Helmsdale from the south, you will also pass two Co-ops, one in Golspie and one in Brora, which offer a slightly wider selection.  The closest big supermarkets are Asda in Tain and Tescos, one in Inverness to the south and the other in Wick to the north.

Gift and Craft Shops

Gifted on Dunrobin Street sells a wide collection of gifts, including jewellery, handbags, candles, scarfs, rugs and toys.  The Timespan gift shop also has a selection of cards, books and pictures, amongst other things.

Ironmongers/Hardware Store

A. R. McLeod & Sons on Dunrobin Street in Helmsdale sell a wide variety of ironmongery goods.  They also act as the local taxi company!

Antiques Shops

For antiques, try Loth Station Antiques signposted off the A9 about half way between Helmsdale and Brora, or Castle Close Antiques on Castle Street in Dornoch.
